Yeah, yeah. I know. I’ve run this topic into the dirt. But I wanted to set the record straight once and for all. When Lucas wrote Star Wars, he based it on fantasy/pulp stories that he loved. Also, if you look up the definition of Sci-Fi, it says:
“Science fiction (abbreviated SF or sci-fi with varying punctuation and capitalization) is a broad genre of fiction that often involves speculations on current or future science or technology” -Wikipedia
Star Wars isnt specualtion, its fanasy. Sure, its fantasy with robots and spaceships.. but fantasy none the less. True Sci-Fi is Star Trek. Star Trek told us about cell phones, personal computers, etc. It not only speculated, it was right about many many things.
So, enjoy each for what it is, but don’t try to debate which is the better film, they are some of the greatest films in each of thier genres. It would be like having a discussion about Kobe vs. LeBron. It just shouldn’t be done.
