- I just gotta be me:
Those who enjoy RPGs primarily enjoy the character creation almost as much at playing the game. The makers of these computer games should take notice. Games like The Witcher could have been great games but, because they throw into a premade chr that you can barely personalize at all, they lose the intrest of the player. No matter how great the gameplay is. A game that gives you almost unlimited chr personalization will get players crowding around even if the gameplay isnt all that great. As we watch the worlds biggest RPG grow (World of Warcraft) they’ve started to slip in more and more customization. Its one of the things that holds W.o.W. back from being one of my all time favorite games. So game programmers, let me make my wizard look like whatever the hell I want him to look like!
- I punch Vampires:
I love monsters. Frankenstien, Wolfman, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Ghost and Ghouls of all types. I even enjoy studying real monsters like Gacey and Gein. But Dracula, although his story peaks my intrest at times, comes across as some huge douchebag. Rich kid who picks on those who seem like lower beings to him. Almost every vampire film/show I know of just pisses me off. The undead is a fertile ground for stories but vampires are the big wusses compared to Zombies, Mummies and even Ghosts. Joss Whedon is the only one whos written a vampire story that Ive even enjoyed. And even then I didnt even enjoy the vampires in those stories as much as the other monsters. So.. Dear Writers of stories/films/etc., just because Twilight makes vampires popular (and talk about complete douchebags), dont think its ok to follow suit. It isnt.
- Warehouse 13
Started watching this show. It comes on the newly named SyFy channel. (The name change is a whole other conversation I could have, and wont.) To break it down simply, do you remember the warehouse in the end of the film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark? The one where they store the ark? Its a show about the people who work in that warehouse. An agency which uses Cyber Punk tech and great police skills to find “X-Files”-ish type artifacts and then they shut them away in the warehouse. Its only into the 2nd episode, so they are still building the chrs, but it has some really great potential. You should have a look on Hulu.com if you have the time.
